Change of company name to “GMO GlobalSign Holdings K.K.“

GMO CLOUD K.K. (President and representative director: Mitsuru Aoyama, hereinafter “GMO CLOUD“) has changed its company name into “GMO GlobalSign Holdings K.K. (hereinafter GMO GlobalSign HD)” today, September 1 (Tue.), 2020.

[Background of company name change] With a development of cloud hosting, security and solution businesses, GMO GlobalSign HD (former GMO CLOUD) has supported many corporations for their internet businesses up to now by providing internet services with a combination of convenience and security/credibility. In recent years, we have been focusing on support of corporations for their “abolishment of seal stamp” and enhancement of procedures for contract conclusion through provision of our electronic contract service “GMO electronic seal Agree”.
In addition, GMO GlobalSign HD has globally enhanced its awareness and credibility through its brand “GlobalSign” operating as a top major electronic certification authority (*1) while developing electronic certification service by its group of consolidated companies.
The current company name change from “GMO CLOUD” to “GMO GlobalSign HD” has been made aiming at further enhancing the brand recognition globally by one-piece efforts of the group of consolidated companies in name of the brand “GlobalSign”.
GMO GlobalSign HD has determined to seek for business expansion and further improvement of our corporate value centering on our top-ranked trust service in Japan (*2) down the road.

(*1) A route certification authority that has cleared a strict audit standard, “Web Trust for CA”, which examines whether e-commerce is conducted based on International E-Commerce Assurance Criteria
(*2) A market share as a route certificate authority of SSL server certificate in Japan in “Netcraft SSL Survey” published by a British survey company “Netcraft”.

Besides, no modification has been made for capital composition and management setup along with the company name change.
